All Saints Church Goes Wild

Plans that All Saints Church are looking to put into action to help the environment The congregation of All Saints Church Deganwy realise the role we all need to play to look after God's world and the environment and in this blog we explain some of the steps that we are undertaking.

On 22 March 2021 a few of the congregation and clergy met with Anna Williams of North Wales Wildlife trust to explore ways in which we could help the environment on our patch. We are stewards of our plant and it is important that we all do our bit to look after it.

Anna walked around our churchyard and gave us many ideas on what we can do to improve the habitat for birds, insects and plant life. We came away with so many ideas that i could not possibly list them all in this blog. I will share three of the major ideas that we plan to put into action.

  1. We are setting aside a wild meadow area to the west side of the church as this will help bees in particular.
  2. We plan to put up bird feeders and water bowls to help our feathered friends.
  3. We are looking to plant some plant species that are particularly bee/insect friendly and also look to establish a bee hotel.

In these projects we hope to engage with Ysgol Deganwy so that the pupils can enjoy getting out into the fresh air and help us develop our projects.

The plans that we have are easily transferable to our own gardens and in that way we can have a greater impact on the natural world.

If you would like to join us in this exciting project please get in touch via the website as this is certainly a case of the more the merrier.
